job detailsAre you an experienced and self-motivated Electrical and Instrumentation Technician? Randstad is working with a reputable client completing shutdown maintenance activities at an onshore LNG facility at Wickham Point. The shutdown, starting in April, will take 2-3 months to complete.
Wickham point is 40 minutes away from Darwin CBD and will require your own transportation to get to site.
About the Role:
Our client has been awarded a contract to provide skilled Electrical & Instrumentation Technical Labour for the works relating to the instrument and electrical maintenance requirements during the LNG (Oil & Gas) planned shutdown project works. The facility is to undergo a planned scheduled project to facilitate periodic maintenance and repairs.
- Undertake maintenance work on electrical, instrumentation and metering systems
- Prioritize time and plan work assignments
- Effectively design and implement Electrical and Instrumentation isolation plans
- Responsible for conducting Hazardous Area inspections, as well as general electrical, fire and gas testing, inspection and servicing.
- Process inspections, including EEHA inspections and critical function testing and calibration.
- Undertake plant inspections to ensure Hazardous Area conformance standards are met, and any required rectification duties are carried out to maintain these standards.
- Ability to manage drawings and technical data sheets using the document management system.
Job Requirements:
- Cert III Instrumentation Trade Certification
- NT Electrical Workers Licence
- HRW Licence - Boom-type EWPs (boom length >11m) (WP)
- LV Rescue/CPR
- Working at Heights
- EEHA (Installation and Maintenance)
- Gas Test Atmospheres
- First aid certificate
- Able to pass a Pre-employment medical
- Hold a National police check or able to pass one (1 year)
- Must have the right to work in Australia

- Proven experience in a similar role
- Knowledge and understanding in the safe use of equipment and hand tools required to perform tasks
- An ability to work effectively within a team
- Experience in maintenance & fault-finding activities
- Knowledge of hydrocarbon production systems and associated hazards
- Understanding of Gas compression & power generation systems
- Ability to follow process & procedures
- Experience maintaining and operating critical instrumentation, including transmitters, gas detectors and control valves
- Excellent attitude towards health, safety & environment
