About Us?The Institute for Urban Indigenous Health Ltd was established by its founding members to provide a coordinated/integrated approach to the planning, development and delivery of comprehensive primary health care services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations within the Southeast Qld Region.
The Quality and Innovation team provides clinical oversight and support to IUIH member services and is responsible for the service development and delivery of urban Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health and family wellbeing care. This diverse team includes IUIH Goodna, Policy, and Regional Clinical Support.
About the Role?
As the Practice Support Officer for our IUIH Goodna Clinic, the successful applicant will be responsible for the provision of effective and efficient administration and service coordination to contribute to the achievement of IUIH Goodna Clinic business and objectives, including increased practice patient numbers, attendance rates and billings. Providing leadership to the Medical Receptionists, the successful applicant will be proactive and supportive in order to effectively lead the day-to-day tasks for the clinic reception team.
Assume responsibility for ensuring efficient and productive use of calendars. Ensure Reception team are following defined booking procedures Monitor billing patterns and raise any concerns with Practice Manager Conduct regular reviews of calendars to ensure billing opportunities have been maximised Implement practices to achieve high booking and attendance rates for multi-disciplinary service provider appointments Contribute to the development and ongoing refinement of referral and follow-up pathways between local clinics and multi-disciplinary service providers Monitor referral and recall system for multi-disciplinary service providers to ensure patients continuity of care is maintained; Work closely with local practice manager, key local support staff and Outreach providers to assist in trouble-shooting issues which may arise in the course of service delivery Assist with Reception duties such as meet and greet clients, answering call, handling ingoing and outgoing correspondence as required Process and batch Medicare Claims Review, monitor and audits of data accuracy Checks are run to audit data accuracy Provide general admin support to the Clinic Team including photocopying, compilation of materials/folders, preparation for program activities
About You?
To perform this role, it is essential that the incumbent is an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person. It is therefore a genuine occupational requirement under section 25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991. Current Blue Card Current Yellow Card Current Criminal History Check Current C Class Drivers Licence (Qld) Experience working in a multidisciplinary clinic environment Previous experience working with an electronic Patient Management System e.g. MMEx (electronic medical appointment system) To be considered for this position, candidates must have had their Covid-19 Booster (3rd Dose) prior to the interview stage.
Desirable, but not mandatory:
Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and /or communities
