About the opportunity

This is a rare and exciting opportunity to join the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Education) portfolio in a key role as the Research and Executive Services Officer.

In this position, you will provide high level operational support, conducts research, and prepares briefings, speaking notes, and other written communications for the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Education) and Portfolio. You will also provide project management and delivery support to the Portfolio as required.

Your key responsibilities will be to:
collaborate with other academic and professional team leaders across the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Education portfolio, university administration, Schools, Faculties and Student Representative groups
conduct research and provide high-level written advice and communications to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Education) and Portfolio
provide planning and project oversight support to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Education) and Portfolio
prepare papers on a broad range of issues for the Deputy Vice-Chancellor's review, inclusive of appropriate and relevant analysis, business strategy and final recommendation
support Portfolio committees, working groups and governance matters as required, including preparing committee papers and agenda packs, maintaining minutes and decisions, updating web materials, responding to queries, exploring matters, and sourcing solutions
provide project management and delivery support to the Portfolio as required.

About you
professional working experience in policy, research or project office and collaborating with senior leaders within a fast-paced and dynamic working environment
outstanding analytical and desktop research skills
strong communication skills with the ability to operate with professionalism across all levels
a proactive and solutions-oriented work ethic, exercising sound judgement to resolve a wide variety of matters
flexible and pragmatic approach when dealing with competing agendas and demands in a time pressured environment.
well-developed negotiation, conflict resolution and influencing skills.

Please note: Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. For a continuing position, you must be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or an Australian Permanent Resident.
