This southern based leisure centre is one of Adelaides leading indoor aquatic centres. Located in the City of Onkaparinga, Noarlunga Aquatic and Recreation Centre boasts a pool area for families, a 25m lap pool, a fitness centre, and three basketball courts used for multiple sports.

The Role/s
Randstad is recruiting for both experienced Swimming Instructors and an experienced Instructor- In-Charge. The Noarlunga Aquatic and Recreation Centre runs a Learn to Swim program, and facilitates a diverse range of classes, programs, events and activities. As a Swimming Instructor / Instructor-in-Charge, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient running of the day-to-day swimming program. You will be someone who has a desire to encourage people of all ages to participate and learn. You will be punctual, energetic and enjoy working with both adults and children and can deliver the following:
- Teaching swimming techniques, swimming strokes, and water safety guidelines to students
- Enhance the swimming abilities of more experienced swimmers
- Evaluate each swimmers performance and provide feedback
- Facilitating the progress of students and adjusting teaching programs accordingly.
- Planning swimming lessons which take into account each students abilities and facilitate development
- Educating customers about the Watch Around Water Policy.
- Ensure the safety of patrons both inside and outside the pools.
- Responding appropriately to emergency situations.
The Swimming Instructor-In-Charge will have all of the above experience and will also have experience in leading a team, overseeing a swimming program and associated administration duties.
If you do not have experience working as an Instructor-In-Charge but have the required Swim Instructor qualifications as well as experience of leading and supervising a team, we would love to hear from you to see if you might be suitable for this role.
Qualifications
Swimming Instructors are required to possess all the following certificates:
- AUSTSWIM Certificate - Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety
- Provide CPR
- Provide First Aid
- Working with Children Check
- Child Safe Environments Certificate (Responding to Abuse, Harm and Neglect)
Centre Operating Hours
The Noarlunga Aquatic and Recreation Centres are open between 6am and 8pm Monday to Friday, 7am and 4pm Saturday, and 9am and 4pm Sunday.
We would need the successful candidate to be available to work a variety of hours including evenings and weekends.
