Job Description
Primary Responsibilities
- Assess identified systems and instruments with intent to migrate them.
- Identify and liaise with key stakeholders to gather requirements and develop proficient solutions in line with company policies and cyber security practices.
- Work with the migration team to ensure that all systems are properly configured and migrated to new network infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to systems migrations.
- Provide support to the system owners during and post migration.
- Capture the system, software, and hardware details.
- Maintain accurate records of all work performed, including documentation of issues and resolutions.
- Maintain asset management system records.
- Follow OHS guidelines when in labs and other potentially hazardous areas.
The Successful Applicant
Knowledge, qualification, skills and experience required
- Demonstrated 2+ years' experience in a level 2 support capacity.
- Ability to decipher and resolve medium to complex IT challenges.
- Demonstrated experience with best security practice.
- Demonstrated experience with hardware rollout efforts and projects.
- Strong customer communication skills.
- Willingness and ability to work as part of a team with the drive and understanding to achieve the project objectives.
- Experience with unique hardware peripherals and/or instrumentation
- Knowledge / experience with computer system migrations
What's on Offer
The successful candidate will be engaged within a 6 month contract, with the likelihood of extending to 1 year pending good performance. You will be part of a delivery focused team, that will be part of an exciting project for 2023.
As a Desktop Support Technician, you will be responsible for supporting the migration of devices, systems, and associated peripherals to new network infrastructure. These systems provide laboratory measurement, industrial control, and data analysis functions.
