Randstad are excited to be partnering once again with SA Water who are seeking a Health and Safety Advisor to join their Health and Safety team. This is a unique opportunity to join one of the States most recognised government bodies and play a key role in supporting the safety of its workers.
Health and Safety Adviser:
Your new position will support and provide health and safety leadership, support, guidance and expertise to relevant business units to prevent harm to SA Waters people, minimise H&S risks, promote health, wellbeing and early intervention, and achieve H&S objectives.
Your new role will involve:
- Promoting health and safety through engagement and active field based leadership.
- Providing consistent information to all workers on relevant H&S responsibilities, H&S management system requirements and H&S legal requirements, and ensuring workers are equipped to meet these requirements.
- Contributing to the development of the H&S management systems and implementing the system, standards, procedures and initiatives in relevant business units including but not limited to:
- H&S risk management including change management and risk management tools
- Supplier and contractor management
- Communication and consultation
- Incident and injury management
- Emergency management
- Monitoring, measuring and evaluation
- Supporting and participating in H&S schedules of monitoring and internal audit activities as per an agreed schedule. Overseeing, monitoring, evaluating and reporting on relevant business team H&S performance against both the organisations and Business Groups H&S objectives and targets.
This position will require regional travel across the state and in some cases country. Travel and accommodation provided by SA Water.

To be successful you will need:
- Qualification in Occupational Health and Safety (minimum Cert IV OHS/WHS)
- Demonstrated competency in internal auditing
- Demonstrated positive health and safety record and knowledge of H&S
- Demonstrated competencies in H&S management systems
- Demonstrated competencies in H&S risk management strategies
- Experience working within the civil construction industry highly desirable
- Strong interpersonal skills and business partnering / influencing skills
- Strong working knowledge of WHS legislation
