Roles & Responsibilities...

In these roles your duties and responsibilities will be tasks including but not limited to

Case Managers

...

- Undertaking end to end case management activities
- With reasonable autonomy and accountability exercise both initiative and judgment to interpret legislation and policy, in the application of practices and procedures to achieve outcomes within the functions.
- Resolving matters through case management of AAT applications
- Undertaking case management of complex AAT matters and analysing to develop options for early resolution or for ongoing tribunal hearings.
- Obtaining necessary information and advice to effectively resolve AAT matters
- Applying alternate dispute resolution methods and advocacy skills to resolving applications/reviews, in keeping with the model litigant principles.
- Attending Case Conferences, Conciliations and Hearings conducted by the AAT.
- Preparing documents detailing resolution options and outcomes at Case Management meetings.
- Assessing and responding to priorities and risks
- Preparing and maintaining electronic record keeping, including evidence supporting decision making processes and justifying conclusions reached during the case management process.

Compliance/ Investigations Officers

- Conduct compliance monitoring and investigative activities, designed to disrupt, prevent and mitigate fraud
- Exercise investigation and monitoring powers and undertake other evidence-gathering activities to inform the development of briefings recommending a range of administrative and court-based outcomes
- Implement and monitor the impact of regulatory action, including large-scale disruption activities
- Engage in capability building activities, designed to build understanding and application of fraud prevention strategies, including through education
- Prepare complex and/or sensitive correspondence and corporate documentation, including reports, briefings and submissions.
- Conduct interviews, prepare statements and affidavits, collect, secure and manage evidential material and confidential information
- Work collaboratively with Legal Officers and other advisers in the development of compliance and investigative responses and briefs of evidence
- Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.

APS6 Specific Competencies

- Provide leadership, control, planning, resource management, performance management and decision making for the Team Membership within the work area.
- Plan and monitor work processes for a small team, direct and coordinate activities, and set performance indicators.

What will you need to be successful in this role

To be considered for this role, as well as being able to action the above accountabilities you will;

- Have previous and demonstrated experience with previous case management, compliance or investigations roles
- Be a strong team player with a hands-on approach, capable of working autonomously or within a small team to achieve deliverables and activities within deadlines.
- Please note: you MUST be an Australian Citizen to work for the Federal Government in Australia.

Preferred candidates will be those who have:

- Certificate IV in Government Investigations or similar
- Have previous experience working in similar positions within the Public Sector
- Have a current or possess the ability to pass and attain a baseline security clearance
- Please note that candidates with working experience or an intimate knowledge of the;

- National Disability Insurance Scheme Act 2013 (Cth), Rules, the Commissioners policies and procedures,
- the Regulatory Powers (Standard Provisions) Act 2014 (Regulatory Powers Act)
- and relevant Commonwealth legislative requirements

will be held in high regard.
