Individuals at this level support the role of the Project Manager, performing tasks involving a high level of autonomy and requiring the application of significant judgment in planning and determining the selection of equipment/ roles/ techniques for themselves and others. They are required to develop site-specific work designs to ensure the implementation of the client's requirements. They demonstrate the application of a broad range of technical, managerial, coordination and planning skills.
Accountabilities
- Implement HSEQ policy, procedures and legislative requirements
- Develop project HSEQ management plans in consultation with key stakeholders and with direction from Project Manager, to meet legislative, internal and clients requirements
- Demonstrate commitment to HSEQ through, personal example, leadership and active participation in HS&E processes
- Identify project stakeholders and their interests, with guidance from Project Manager.
- Analyse all project management functions with Project Manager and relevant stakeholders to determine achievable project objectives.
- Develop and confirm procedures for project authorisation with Project Manager as the basis for future project management activity and the commitment of resources and effort
- Identify project objectives, deliverables, constraints, exclusions, assumptions and principle work activities, in collaboration with the Site Manager / Site Supervisor
- Establish, and obtain agreement on, measurable project deliverables, milestones and outcomes to enable evaluation of project performance, in collaboration with the Site Manager / Site Supervisor
- Manage the impact of scope changes within established time, cost and quality constraints according to change control procedures and to meet project objectives.
- Develop a three week look ahead program in conjunction with the Site Manager / Site Supervisor which aligns with the key project milestones.
- Determine the duration, effort, sequence and dependencies of tasks from the scope definition as the basis for the project program, in collaboration with the Site Manager / Site Supervisor
- Determine resource requirements for individual tasks, with input from the Site Manager and Contract Administrator, and guidance from Project Manager
- Estimate project costs and produce budgets for allocated project scope of work.
- Determine quality objectives, standards and levels, with input from the Site Manager and guidance from the Project Manager, to establish the basis for quality outcomes and a quality management plan.
- Select and use established quality management methods, techniques and tools to determine preferred mix of quality, capability, cost and time.
Requirements:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications (Diploma of Civil Construction Management, Diploma of Engineering, Bachelor of Engineering)
- C class drivers licence
- Eligibility for membership of Engineers Australia or equivalent professional industry body
- Eligibility for membership of the Australian Institute of Project Management as CPPP
Certificate IV inLeadership and Management
- Minimum of 5-8 years in positions, which provide a base of hands-on technical engineering experience in a similar size business.
- Experience in the day-to-day co-ordination of commercial civil construction/ infrastructure projects
