This Tier One Manufacturing business works closely with our Randstad team for a variety of positions across our blue collar and white collar operations. They employ over 13,000 employees, spanning 18 countries internationally producing integral materials for building operations. In an exciting new phase to their business they have asked us to find them a Construction Manager to build a brand new Warehouse facility producing innovative steel products in the Sydneys Western suburbs valued at $290 million, expected duration of the project 3-5 years.
This is a unique opportunity to be a pivotal Senior leader building new Industrial headquarters, consisting of a large processing warehouse, associated foundations and installation of line equipment.
The Role:
You will work alongside a Project Manager and report directly to the Project Director, steering the new team and business to further success, taking full ownership of the project, supervising site activities and delegating as necessary.
Ideally you will already have good client relationships in Sydney as well as a solid reputation with subcontractors.
You will have direct experience constructing Industrial Projects, Warehouses, Storage facilities or loading docks locally for an Australian Industrial Builder on projects over $100 million AUD, and possess a successful portfolio outlining similar projects.
- Ensuring construction aspects i.e scopes for the project are clearly defined
- Maintain and Manage systems to evaluate any plant modifications.
- Budgets
- Costing
- Approve commitments and expenditure within budget limits, based on your authority level.
- Adherence to BCA standards
- Set up and maintain structures to manage the work of the Construction team (using the systems, tools and standards including, but not limited to, safety management, resource management, contract management, document control, and accurate and timely cost and schedule reporting in order to ensure the highest quality practices are embedded in all aspects of construction management.
- Site Inspections, establishment and testing.
- Experienced in Safety and Quality requirements
- Daily and Monthly reporting
- OH&S
- Subcontractor site Inductions
- Client Care
- Overview, with the Project Team, the procedures and methods of construction progress monitoring put in place by the
- Overview productivity levels
- Managing on site issues
- Working to deadlines, contract and project time frames.
Requirements
- You will have a minimum of 7 years experience working on similar projects ideally over $100 million AUD on the Professional delivery of industrial end to end projects
- Knowledge of construction including steel and precast and building codes and regulations
- On-site construction experience.
- Previous experience installing line equipment and building Manufacturing Warehouses.
- Commitment to safety and quality compliance
- Multi-project planning and coordination
- Strong stakeholder management skills
- Great communicator
- Ability to work with Site Managers, sub-contractors and Contracts Administrators
- Manage project budgets
- Ability to problem solve
- Willing to travel across NSW
- Computer Savvy with the ability to pick up in house systems including Aconex and SAP.
- You will be highly motivated and ambitious with drive and passion in a leadership capacity.
- Confident and looking to exceed in all facets of your work. Delivering on time and on Budget.
- Exceptional Communication skills
- A can do positive attitude and confidence.
- Good management approach.
Qualifications:
Ideally you will have a Construction Management or Building diploma but relevant experience working for competitors will be acknowledged and shortlisted on a case by case basis.
