We are currently in our 71st year of service delivery and we provide Allied Health services including Psychology, Positive Behaviour Support, Occupational Therapy and Speech Pathology across QLD, NSW, VIC, SA and WA.

About the opportunity

As the Clinical Manager of Psychology, you will be responsible for supervising and managing provisional psychologists working within the NDIS space. You will be a Board approved primary and secondary supervisor for provisional psychologists and in charge of ensuring our clients receive evidence-based quality psychological assessment and intervention. Afford supports a diverse caseload of NDIS participants between the ages of 7 and 65 years, within a primarily community role. Afford supports individuals presenting with a range of disabilities including intellectual impairment, autism spectrum disorder, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, neurogenerative disorders, genetic disorders, and physical disabilities. The role will include creating and reviewing policies related to psychological intervention, behaviour support and creating professional development courses to support the team.

About You

We are looking for a Board Approved Supervisor who is professional with a genuine desire to support individuals with disabilities lead exceptional lives. The role is best suited to individuals who enjoy the freedom of managing their caseload and service delivery, whilst working within a strong and supportive multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities Provide primary and secondary supervision for internal provisional psychologists. This includes telehealth supervision, face to face supervision (where appropriate), observations, and editing and signing off on reports. This can also include group supervision. Create and monitor policies regarding psychological practice within the company Develop professional development courses to meet the needs of current and future clinicians. Although the key focus will be supervising provisional psychologists, there will also be a component for a clinical caseload. Assist with behaviour support, including supervision, training and editing reports. Ensure clinicians are using evidence based interventions. Assist clinicians within the Allied Health team with urgent risk assessments as required, to ensure safety of clients. Provide training in assessment, scoring, interpreting and report writing assessments, including cognitive assessments, functional assessments and psychological assessments. Collaborate with families and multidisciplinary teams when designing intervention plans to achieve client goals. Provide training and support to assist clients, families and carers with the implementation of intervention plans and programs. Autonomously meet administrative components of the role including timetable and caseload management, booking of appointments, completion of progress notes and reports in a timely manner. Work closely with the Allied Health Management team. Possibility to assist with recruitment and interviewing possible provisional psychologists.

Skills and Experience Tertiary qualifications in Psychology Current registration with AHPRA as a psychologist and a board approved supervisor Current Working with Children, NDIS Worker Screening and NSW Police Check Experience working with paediatric and adult clients with a disability Excellent verbal and written communication skills High level interpersonal communication and customer service delivery skills Strong organisation and time management skills and the ability to work autonomously within a complex environment characterised by competing demands and tight timelines. Ability to work both collaboratively within a team and independently Commitment to personal and professional development Current unrestricted drivers licence
