Financial and Operations Manager

Randstad is currently recruiting for one of our clients in the aged care sector. Wheatfields Inc. is a specialised residential aged care service provider, delivering on-going accommodation and respite support with individualised care to the elderly. A community owned, not for profit organisation, Wheatfields is administered by a Board of Management elected from members of the community.

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join the team as the Financial and Operations Manager (FOM). This role plays a crucial part in ensuring the smooth day-to-day functioning of the organization and maintaining high standards in finance and operations. The FOM will establish and maintain good working relationships with members of the Management Team and appropriate external key stakeholders and/or service providers.

Responsibilities:

As the Financial and Operations Manager, you will be accountable for the following:

- Financial Management:

- Management, operation and maintenance of accounting systems
- Preparation of annual cash-flow budget
- Preparation of monthly financial statements and reports
- Manage preparation and processing of payroll, accounts payable etc.

- Operational Oversight:

- Supervise and streamline administrative processes.
- Work Health and Safety: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Return to Work: Develop and implement return-to-work programs.
- Human Resources Coordination: Oversee HR functions incl. maintaining and reviewing job descriptions
- Maintenance: Supervise maintenance activities to ensure a well-functioning environment.

- Delegation and Collaboration:

- Work closely with the Chief Executive Officer and the Board of Management.
- Delegate responsibilities effectively to ensure efficient workflow.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve organizational goals.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field.

Role Requirements:

- Proven experience in financial management and operational oversight.
- Strong understanding of accounting standards and best practices.
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
- High-level communication skills to effectively collaborate and engage with direct reports, staff members, residents , board members, community members, government agency staff and officers.
- Experience in the aged care/health sector.
- Demonstrated competency in leading and managing diverse teams.
- Demonstrate a high level of time management, productivity, and organizational skills.

Desired Competencies:

- Tertiary Qualification: Hold a tertiary qualification in Business, Finance, or a related field.
- Alignment with Organizational Values: Demonstrate an understanding of the vision, purpose, and values of Wheatfields Inc.
- Project and Change Management: Proven experience in Project and Change management.
- Specialized Knowledge: Experience in management in the aged care sector
- Continuous Improvement: Proven experience in identifying areas and means of improving work performance and outcomes consistent with Continuous Quality Improvement for Aged Care.
- Legislative Knowledge: Solid working knowledge and understanding of Work Health and Safety, Employment, Aged Care legislation, including Aged Care Quality Standards and the legal/business implications of non-compliance.
