job detailsWe are looking for a Civil Project Engineer for our Rail Renewals
- Degree Qualified in Civil Engineering
- FIFO from Perth WA, 2:1 roster
- 41% uplift working in the Pilbara Region
- At least 5 years engineering and industry experience
RESPONSIBILITIES
Communicating ...
- Liaise with clients on tender queries
- Brief subcontractors on construction methodology/plan, supply relevant information and delegate responsibility accordingly
- Liaise with subcontractors to ensure all equipment is fit for purpose
- Liaise with client regarding design, construction and contract issues
- Liaise with service utility providers prior to commencing works (i.e. electrical suppliers)
Planning and Organising
- Review tender documents
- Review preliminary design for alternative solutions
- Determine quantities, obtain subcontract quotations, determine bid values, and review tender bids
- Review final tender submission
- Review tender quotations in conjunction with Project Manager
- Prepare sub-contract documentation
- Preparation of cash flow budgets and reconciliation of actual budget for submission to Senior Management
Managing Information / General Administration Support
- Analyse and resolve field construction issues
- Develop and maintain programme and schedule with project Senior Management input
- Maintain thorough understanding of contract documents and subcontracts
- Take weekly project photos
- Prepare and document contract variations as required
- Maintain punch list with project Senior Management
- Manage project closeout and obtain all warranties required for final acceptance.
- Authorisation of all on-site orders
- Inspect/verify material deliveries
- Maintain Plant and Equipment List
- Administer cost maintenance
Monitoring and Reporting
- Conduct cost control and forecasting activities for the project
- Update existing programme with project Senior Management
- Prepare and review construction program on fortnightly basis for submission to client
- Schedule and attend site meetings. Review and action minutes of site meetings.
- Analysis of cost benefit (purchase/hire/lease)
- Ensure prestart checklists and maintenance is completed for all plant and equipment items
- Review and update construction budgets
- Reconcile invoices to orders/contracts

- Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction Management or similar field
- Experience in a similar role

- Developed analytical and problem solving skills
