Job Description
* Responsible for the operation, support and maintenance of specific software applications, which may be built in-house or third-party software.
* Develop deep understanding of the application's functionality and back end.
* Oversee software testing and transition processes and provide necessary support when required.
* Interacting with the application users + on boarding of the users.
* Work in a team setting
* Applications development
* Monitoring tools and techniques required by the organisation
* The Applications Support Engineer uses critical thinking skills to identify and solve problems. Being passionate about analysing and resolving problems, and addressing technical challenges is essential.
The Successful Applicant
A candidate with a wide understanding of service maintenance
- Implementing and developing processes and plans
- Ability to conduct technical impact analysis
- Design software test plans
- Test case scenarios
Proficiency to provide software support
- Develop operational configuration management plans
- Manage maintenance of COTS and other software technologies to maintain currency
- Oversee software help desk activities
- Retirement of software procedure
- Provide training (developing materials and plans) on new software
Ability to provide insights on service improvements
- Ensure requirements are met and exceeded
- Propose recommendations to improve performance
- Alleviate client satisfaction
- Anticipate internal/external business challenges and regulatory issues
- Document technical architecture, code changes, issue resolutions and procedures
Soft Skills
Emotional regulation and proficient communication skills are essential
