About the Role
This is a unique opening to lead the successful development and implementation of procurement strategies, aiding the senior leadership in executing strategic projects, and securing various contracts to promote project development.

- Engaging and collaborating effectively with government stakeholders to provide guidance in support of and in alignment with government strategic objectives.
- Ensuring a commitment to value for money and best practice sourcing through the provision of efficient, effective and transparent procurement processes and outcomes.
- Providing commercial, risk and strategic advice on contractual matters.
- Influence and offer support to stakeholders in their efforts to enhance procurement practices and ensure compliance throughout the entire organisation.
- Experience in end to end procurement for high value tasks.
- Develop contracting and commercial frameworks for the council that are suitable for widespread use, while ensuring the presence of adequate commercial and risk management controls.
- Mentoring and supporting staff to ensure the ongoing adherence and compliance to relevant contract legislation, industry standards and local governments contract policy and processes.
- Act as a driving force for continually improving the procurement functions, coordinating the development and periodic review of local governments contracted activities.
About You
- Passion for actively participating in an organisation dedicated to advancing environmental initiatives.
- Experience leading project and procurement processes through effective management and / or facilitation to achieve desired outcomes at lowest overall cost and best value for money.
- Extensive experience in stakeholder engagement, contract negotiation, contract management and dispute resolution.
- Supervising project progress and making required modifications for successful completion.
- Ability to maintain positive working relationships, consulting, influencing and negotiating with a wide range of stakeholders in procurement processes and contract management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Whilst candidates with tertiary qualifications are desirable, applicants with demonstrated experience, knowledge, and skills in these areas are strongly encouraged to apply.
