How this position will Make the Difference to City of Melbourne
The Event Operations Coordinator is a pivotal role in the booking and approval process associated with events or activities such as parades, festivals and public gatherings in public space within the City of Melbourne. The role is crucial in the accurate analysis of data, for example, risk management plans and the subsequent recording of event related information in digital systems. Approvals need to be in accordance with corporate policy, logistical procedures and risk mitigation standards.
The Event Operations Coordinator is also a key support to other members of the team, as it is one of five identical positions and requires a flexible and consultative approach. The Event Operations Coordinator is expected to be able to work effectively both individually with minimal supervision and be able to proactively collaborate within a team.
What you will bring (Selection criteria)Ability to demonstrate and display City of Melbourne Values accountability, integrity, courage, respect for self and others, and striving for excellence.Experience in interpreting and applying relevant legislation, regulations, local laws, statutory guidelines, and operational event plans.Demonstrated understanding of risk management and mitigation strategies.Highly developed interpersonal skills with proven ability to negotiate and gain cooperation to resolve issuesGood organisational skills with an ability to prioritise work load and to work in a systematic way in a busy environment to achieve organisational objectivesDemonstrated understanding of and commitment to quality customer serviceDemonstrated analytical skills able to identify solutions to both routine and more complex problemsWell-developed written and computer skills with experience in using standard office systems and packages such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
