Senior Data Analyst 21270 Permanent Sydney, NSWHow will I Help?
As a Senior Data Analyst, you will be working with a variety of stakeholders across the Westpac Group, you will be responsible for driving and improving our customer's experience through your reports, insights, and models. Within our team, you will work closely with other data scientists, insights analysts, analysts and business subject matter experts to deliver analytic products and projects. Your strong technical skills and ability to automate, wrangle, transform and present data into actionable insights and advice will ensure your success in this position.
You will have the opportunity to both lead and be part of analytics and data science workstreams to deliver that business value through analytics. This will involve: A deep understanding of advanced analytics techniques to identify, interpret and analyse complex data sets to answer multifaceted business problems including the identification of trends, patterns and/or insights Lead the development and implementation of templates, databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies and solutions that optimise statistical efficiency and quality using best practice methodologies and industry recognised standards and processes Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources, create databases/data systems to expected standards and coach team members to maintain systems Produce reports, visualisations and recommendations to answer complex business problems that are presented in the most appropriate format to ensure clarity for business audiences Analyse and define new process improvement opportunities to support continuous improvement and business outcomes; providing advice to stakeholders, on ways to improve the efficiency and reliability of data products and services Ensure that all insights and model deliverables protect the security and privacy of our bank's information, and ensure that solutions are reliable and trusted for our customers, and stakeholders.

What do I need?
The ideal candidates should be passionate and curious about using analytics and data in different novel ways to help our business grow, have a curious, growth mindset, and be able to work in a high-impact fast environment.
Role requirements include: 4+ years of experience in creating and maintaining dashboards, datasets and reports for business stakeholders. Ability to extract actionable insights and create presentations for non-technical business stakeholders technical solution design: ability to convert and explain business problems into technical specifications Experience in collaborating with cross functional teams to deliver outcomes for business stakeholders. Ability to present and communicate to both technical and business stakeholders Technical proficiency in the below domains: analytics, data wrangling, ETL and understanding of analytical databases (not limited to) Coding: SQL, Python, R, C++, Javascript or other Microsoft: Excel, VBA, Powerpoint Database experience: Teradata Visualisation and/or front end application development: Tableau, Qliksense/Qlikview; React.js, Vue.js, Superset, Bokeh, Plotly, Matlibplot, Seaborn; Power BI Optional: Statistical and mathematical understanding in model building, and trade offs Cloud & Big Data: Azure/AWS, Spark, HBase, HDFS
