job detailsI am currently looking to fill an on-going Lead Diesel Mechanic position. My client is a respected industrial organisation looking for a qualified Heavy Diesel Mechanic to lead the team. This position is within the waste management industry where you will be servicing and maintaining a fleet of vehicles, this industry is an essential service.
Due to the necessity for filling this role quickly I am looking for an experienced Diesel Mechanic who can hit the ground running.
Duties:
- Perform repair and maintenance of heavy vehicles, and equipment in a safe manner in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and company policies.
- Perform detailed inspections of heavy vehicles and equipment and correct equipment deficiencies and perform preventive maintenance on company own equipment.
- Perform fabrication and repair component parts.
- Identify and repair or report worn or failed components, etc.
- Complete service forms, brake forms and other paperwork accurately and legibly in accordance with company guidelines
- vehicles include: trucks, front lift, rear lift, side lift, roll on and off vehicles
- completing service documentation
- ensuring all working is completed efficiently and to standard
- Be available for afternoon shift
Experience and qualifications:
- minimum 4 years maintenance experience
- Certificate III in Heavy Vehicle Mechanical
- A sound working knowledge of heavy and mechanical repairs.
- To be able to decipher workshop manuals and technical bulletins to carry out duties as a qualified motor mechanic.
- To be able to carry out duties whilst unsupervised
- first aid (preferred)
- proactive approach to problem solving and risk management
- strong communication skills
- HR truck license (preferred)
