Based just outside of the Melbourne CBD, these roles present an opportunity to work for a large Federal Government within a Service Design and Improvement Branch. In the branch the Project Managers have concurrent requirements to resolve issues and risks across a broad range of activities of substantial depth involving significant detail and to provide support to the team leadership of their work area in the planning and coordination of the team.
These roles are ideal for candidates with a strong background in project/program management, strategic planning, risk coordination/management, governance and policy development. Candidates will need to have strong demonstrated project management, stakeholder management experience as these positions will be required to liaise with a range of internal and external stakeholders in a representational role on behalf of the agency.
On offer is a 12 month labour-hire contract with potential to extend beyond, based in Richmond with flexible working arrangements.
Duties and responsibilities in these positions include but are not limited to
...
- Developing, managing and implementing project plans and schedules in accordance with the Agencys project management framework.
- Contributing to project design, governance arrangements and operational integration.
- Ensuring project deliverables and milestones are met on time and within budget.
- Researching, reviewing and evaluating projects in specific operational or technical areas.
- Reporting on project outputs to stakeholders and overseeing regular project reporting including status updates and exception reports.
- Preparing and reviewing written material including business cases, plans, reports and executive briefs and corporate documentation.
- Undertaking budget management, monitoring expenditure and overseeing procurement and contract management activities.
- Identifying, assessing, managing, escalating and monitoring project risks, issues and benefits, including developing treatment strategies.
- Analysing project performance and coordinating quality management activities to ensure that project deliverables are fit for purpose and meet client needs.
The ideal candidate for this role will be professional, confident and have demonstrated experience in the following areas
- Ability to understand complex issues and interpret data to assist in determining root-cause issues.
- Deep understanding of Project Management and ability to use differing project tools.
Ability to influence stakeholders and manage conflicting or challenging situations.
- Expert knowledge of Jira and Confluence
Although not essential, the following qualifications/experience will be held in high regard when shortlisting application;
- Detailed understanding of SAP and Salesforce CRM platforms
- Previous experience working in project management within the government or human (health, education, disability, social services etc.) sectors
- Project Management experience delivering complex projects or Government agency projects is greatly desired.
What will you need to be successful in this role
As this role will be working within a Federal Department, it is essential that you:
- Are an Australian Citizen
- currently hold or have the ability to pass a national police check
- Availability to work full-time hours Monday - Friday on a long term basis
