The Role
The primary purpose of the role is to provide specialist support to Ventia sectors to effectively implement workers compensation, health and injury management activities for their employees. This role is responsible for supporting and enabling business units to appropriately address employee health and injury factors impacting safe work participation. This includes advice and assistance in relation to both work related injuries and non-work-related conditions.
The Health & Injury Management Partner will work collaboratively with business stakeholders to develop skills and embed competencies within sectors to implement effective health management activities that address employee health and provide optimal business outcomes. The role will work with local sites and operations to implement injury management initiatives and co-ordinate rehabilitation, return to work and workers compensation claims activities.
The main responsibilities of the role include:
- Provide specialist coaching and consultation with sector stakeholders and shared services colleagues to facilitate optimal workers compensation and injury management outcomes for employees
- Facilitate co-ordination of claims, rehabilitation and return to work activities within sectors to support employees with work related injuries and/or non-work-related conditions
- Case management strategy development and implementation for workers compensation, health and injury management matters to achieve optimal case resolution
- Monitor and track claim trends, costs, outstanding liability and provision accounts in consultation with
sectors
- Complete case conferences with treating practitioners, sector stakeholders, claims managers, insurers and service providers
The Candidate
The right candidate for this position needs to have:
- Minimum 3 years experience in roles with an occupational rehabilitation provider, employer, broker and/or insurer
- Tertiary qualifications in Allied Health, Human Resources/Industrial Relations (HR/IR), or Safety
- Postgraduate qualifications in health promotion, safety, HR/IR, risk management or law
- Return to work co-ordination accreditation
- Insurance and Claims Management experience is a must
