This Defence Prime is seeking a Junior Electrical Engineer who will be working on projects of National significance. The opportunity will be based in Henderson, WA.
About the opportunity:
As a entry level Junior Electrical Engineer, you will directly contribute to the electrical engineering activities in accordance with the relevant project engineering processes and under the supervision of senior Electrical Design Engineers.
In terms of specific responsibilities, you will:
- Support the design integration of complex systems into a platform
- Develop electrical system and/or equipment architectural designs to meet an established set of requirements, including participating in architectural design reviews
- Utilise appropriate 2D & 3D design capture and simulation/analysis tools to document system designs and aid the development process
- Conduct trade studies to determine the strengths and weaknesses of candidate solutions
- Undertake the translation of the design into a manufacturable solution, incorporating changes as required
- Support the electrical system manufacture to ensure its realisation and participate in production readiness reviews
- Support integration, verification and qualification activities to ensure that the product meets all requirements including safety and regulatory requirements
Ideally, you will be capable of operating in a complex design environment, exhibiting personal attributes such as:
- Practical and pragmatic
- Capable of dealing equally with people at all levels, and across disciplines
- Self-driven by nature and proactive in your approach to achieving project objectives
- Confident in soliciting the input of senior engineers to aid in your continued development.
During the course of the program, junior engineers will be utilised in a wide range of design activities, in order to bring new ideas to the design teams, as well as to grow your experience and expertise across a breadth of engineering design activities and systems. These varied design activities will allow you to use your engineering judgment and technical knowledge, demonstrating continuous development on your journey to chartered engineering status.
About you:
To be eligible, you must have completed a university degree qualification in Electrical Engineering.
You will also need demonstrated team work and communication skills coupled with a desire to grow and learn. Due to the nature of our work, you'll also need to be an Australian citizen and eligible for Australian Defence security clearance.
