The role:
We are seeking a passionate engineering professional who can bring solutions to complex problems. You will play an integral role in supporting the team with configuration and sustainment of enterprise client's security tools such as firewalls, email gateways, EDR and SIEM.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Monitor and maintain managed security tools, including the continuous improvement of capabilities and processes.
- Support and collaborate when required with Security Operations Centre staff in recommending improvements to security coverage, onboarding log sources, use case development and training in toolsets.
- May be involved in improving the quality of dashboards and use case alerting.
- Maintain service management best practices and processes.
- Maintain awareness of emerging threats and offensive techniques.
- Be prepared to lead the continuous improvement for the platforms that you maintain.
- Be prepared to support the Service Delivery Manager with service delivery reporting through the collection, analysis and summary of data and trends.
Key technical knowledge:
- SIEM experience in onboarding log sources, building dashboards and managing SIEM environments is desirable.
- Implementing network and host security policies, following change management best practices.
- Ability to create original documentation including designs and configuration guides to a template standard.
- Familiarity with IT service management practices and processes.
- Very good understanding of IP networks and the mechanisms, appliances and controls to protect them.
