ABOUT THE POSITION
This role is an exciting opportunity to take the lead on all environment matters nationally within the business. It will play a key role in the implementation of management system requirements, promoting environment and occupational hygiene awareness and driving high performance across the business. You will provide technical support on significant environmental aspects such as occupational hygiene, dewatering and liaise with the client and relevant stakeholders.
YOUR DUTIES INVOLVE:
- Validation of control measures
- Facilitating the closure of CARs identified during investigations and audits.
- Development and delivery of training packages
- Assess the current system, develop a plan of improvement and identify gaps.
- Assisting the project teams nationally in the implementation of the companys policies and procedures in relation to environmental compliance and occupational hygiene related mattersDeveloping, maintaining and ongoing supporting the Environment and/or Sustainability Management plan, processes and system elements
- Providing advice on environmental aspects such as contamination, erosion and sediment control, heritage, ecology, waste management, noise and vibration.
- Applying for and managing any required environmental permits and approvals, Providing the project team with awareness of legal compliance requirements
- Recording all relevant environmental data and compiling reports for both internal and external stakeholders
- Assist with the companys internal audit program in relation to HSE including reviewing audit
- Conduct or support air monitoring, clearance inspections, asbestos, and hazardous material audits
- Support the deployment of drug & alcohol testing and education
- Coordinate personal protective equipment fit-testing programs
- Training of staff on company policies, procedures, and systems in relation to silicosis
- Collecting and providing exposure risk information to support asbestos removal from site
- Analysing, interpreting, and evaluating exposure data
- Assist with work related injury and illness prevention management
- Support rehabilitation and return to work plans
- Maintain a close working relationship with the relevant regulatory bodies
- Assist and as required prepare various reports on environmental compliance
- Support site teams with report preparation
- Occupational noise & vibration surveys
- Hazardous substance and dangerous goods management
QUALIFICATIONS
- Environmental Science Degree or similar
- Proven experience across a broad range of Environment disciplines and related
- industries
- Understanding of work-related injury and illness prevention management to support
- rehabilitation and return to work plans
- Desirable:
- Occupational hygiene formal qualification
- Incident investigation methodology (e.g., ICAM)
- Construction industry experience
