Job summary
Our Critical Infrastructure Solutions (CIS) team primarily supplies, installs and supports microwave (6-80GHz) backhaul data radio systems and associated Network Management Software (NMS) applications. CIS has other technologies in its repertoire, including data networking analytics, 5G base station products, TDM and TV broadcast transmitters.We now have an exciting opportunity for a Systems Engineer Associate to join our team.
Role will be based at our Forest Hill location.
The Systems Engineer Associate is an entry-level role and will work with IT specialists to support the NMS applications and Radio Frequency (RF) communications engineers using equipment specific knowledge to maintain equipment and software applications. Assistance will also be required for the delivery of customer and internal projects.
Key accountabilities:
Provide customer support for the NEC NMS, NEC radio equipment and third-party productsInterface with OEM support agencies as necessaryUndertake training to become familiar withNEC NMS applicationsNEC microwave radio product lines, especially configuration aspectsThird party products sold and supported by CISOccasional site work for installation support and fault findingBecome proficient with test equipment, including spectrum analysers and data network testersPerform tasks to support projects being undertaken by CIS; inc. documentation, conduct of factory acceptance testingAssist and participate in pre-sales activities for the CIS product catalogue
Key skills and experience:Degree in Telecommunications (or similar), with completed modules pertaining to electronic circuit design and data networkingHave a working knowledge of IT data networking conceptsUnderstanding of electronics theoryMechanical aptitudeProficiency with MS Word and MS ExcelGood communication and interpersonal skills and ability to understand technical issues and clearly articulate solutions to clientsAbility to comprehend system and communications architecturesAbility to analyse problems and identify solutionsCompleted education pertaining to RF (desirable)
