Job summary
The RoleThis permanent, full time Broome based role will oversee the day to day operations and management of the organisation, implementing the strategic goals and objectives and assist the Waardi Ltd and Guumbarr Trust Boards with governance and to support the strategic direction in community development and planning. This role reports to both Boards to ensure the successful outcomes of the organisation, including staff and financial management, risk management, governance and compliance. The Organisation
Waardi Ltd is a member-based organisation established in 2011 to manage the benefits from the Browse LNG Precinct Project Agreement. The organisation is currently undergoing a restructure in order to align the newly formed PBC, Waardi (as the administrative body) and the existing Guumbarr Trust. Further information is available on www.waardi.com.au and www.guumbarr.com. Waardi curently runs several Early Years parenting and literacy programs in communities and schools across the Kimberley. The newly formed PBC is currently finalising the new direction of the organisation. The Person we Seek
To be successful in this role, you will be an experienced CEO or General Manager with demonstrated understanding and passion for furthering the interests of our Members. You will have excellent people management skills to lead a team and foster effective relationships with members, the Boards and other stakeholders. Your proficient business and financial management skills and knowledge of governance and Board operations will ensure compliance requirements are met, as the organisation evolves. You will be able to deliver on strategic objectives and drive continuous improvement and strategic planning processes. Ideally you will have previous experience in working in an Aboriginal organisation or with Aboriginal people.

A total base salary of $150K- $180K p/a is offered subject to experience and qualifications. Five (5) weeks Annual Leave p/a and generous Salary Packaging benefits are offered. As Waardi Ltd is a Public Benevolent Institution and a remote area employer, we are able to offer a range of optional benefits that may be salary packaged including, 17.5% Leave Loading and a range of other salary sacrificing benefits, including rental and mortgage interest expenses. Essential Skills, Knowledge and Experience: Advanced interpersonal skills to lead and motivate staff and maintain effective relationships Expert knowledge and substantial experience in the area of management and Board operations. Advanced strategic planning skills and experience implementing high level outcomes within time and financial constraints. Skills and capacity to network and maintain effective relationships with Members and relevant stakeholders Ability to think, use initiative and make decisions within guidelines. Demonstrated high ethical standards and ability to understand and interpret guidelines including constitutions, Trust Deeds and legal agreements
Desirable Skills and Experience Experience working with Indigenous people and organisations at a Board/Director level Knowledge of the Browse Basin Agreement and The Native Title Act
