Job Description
The Senior Financial Analyst delivers financial management activities, including financial planning, forecasting and reporting across all business units, data analysis, financial modelling and adhoc reporting.Your job could be summarised into:
- Preparation of annual operating plan and forecasts
- Conduct analysis on financial and operational results to understand company performance
- Reporting to Leadership Team on the reasons behind the product/department performance and results
- Building models and conduct "what if" scenario analyses to identify alternative strategies to improve company performance
- Providing detailed analysis and commentary in relation to areas such as margin analysis and promotional spend
- Reviewing operations and the recommendation of new productivity or cost saving initiatives
- Preparing business cases to support new investment, strategic and other business decisions
- New Product Development P&L modelling
- Reviewing existing processes and procedures to develop recommendations for business improvements
- Communicating results and recommendations to Leadership Team around cost reduction, streamlining operations and increased revenue generation
- Provide insights to senior management around financial modelling, forecasts and profitability
- Assist in the monthly close process by analysing trends and variances related to revenue, and compare and correct data to reconciled financial transactions
- Work in conjunction with other business functions as a dedicated finance personnel in providing financial information and guidance
- Work in conjunction with Supply Chain team to ensure alignment of financial forecast and inventory demand planning
- Launch and manage a balance scorecard tool across the business
- Actively participate and provide input into special project and other areas of the business
The Successful Applicant
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience in a fast-paced Financial Analyst role - preferably in a Multinational organisation, Pharmaceutical or FMCG environment
- Accounting Degree
- Professional accounting qualifications - CA / CPA
- Advanced knowledge of financial modelling and business architecture
- Ability to solve complex problems
- Commercial acumen
- Ability to work efficiently and accurately in a deadline driven environment
- Excellent attention to detail
- Excellent organisation skills
- Strong verbal and written communication
- High level of computer literacy (Excel and PowerPoint - Advanced).
- SAP experience a must
- Ability to manage competing priorities
- Ability to work as part of a team and autonomously
- A pro-active, can-do attitude
