We currently have an exciting opportunity for a People Lead within our Maritime Sustainment business based in Henderson, WA. The Maritime Sustainment Line of Business has 1000 employees and is responsible for delivering current sustainment programs across Henderson, Cairns, Sydney, and Melbourne, as well as pursuing future growth opportunities.

Your new role:

As the People Lead - Maritime Sustainment, you will be responsible for providing strategic leadership in the development of the maritime strategy and the people plan, and for implementing relevant people actions as an enabler to strategy delivery. This is a key leadership role where you will be responsible for embedding the people strategy elements such as talent management, succession planning, workforce planning and leadership coaching into the day-to-day delivery by providing high impact support and through the implementation of solutions across the entire employee lifecycle. In more specific terms, you will: Contribute to the development of the People Organisation's strategy, and leads the deployment of this within the dedicated stakeholder group, ensuring strong alignment with the business strategy, requirements and objective Coach leaders by providing expert advice to identify, prioritise and build organisational capabilities, behaviours, structures and processes Work with the Delivery Director, Maritime Sustainment to develop a culture of teamwork and inclusive leadership throughout the lead team that flows down through the organisation Work as a strategic business partner to support the development of the maritime sustainment business workforce plan and the implementation of the talent and succession strategy Inspire and lead a small high performing team, creating a team dynamic that enables reports, and others in the function, to deliver maximum results for the business, sets clear and stretching objectives, and provide coaching and feedback which creates an appetite to grow and develop Act as a steward and role model to drive a high performance and inclusive culture, and role models inclusive leadership that inspires and promotes BAE Systems Australia's values and the core leadership behaviours

About you

As an ideal applicant for this opportunity, you'll have: A degree qualification or equivalent experience in a related discipline Demonstrated experience as a People Leader, ideally gained in a complex matrix organisation Experience in delivering major projects in an industrial setting Strong Industrial relations experience Experience in building and maintaining effective relationships with Business Units, Managers, customers and external parties Well established stakeholder management skills, including building relationships and effectively coaching and influencing stakeholders to deliver outcomes whilst maintaining key relationships The ability to work autonomously and with a geographically dispersed team Flexibility to travel to different sites across the country on a monthly basis
