About the role
PWR are seeking a talented and motivated individual to handle simulation requests arising from our exponentially growing client base. The engineering department is increasingly relying on simulation to provide our clients with the design which will deliver performance. We require a senior level experience within simulation/engineering group. The selected candidate is expected to work closely with simulation team leader and contribute actively to the development of simulation tools and methodologies.
About you
The Simulation/CFD Engineer role within PWR will have the following responsibilities and tasks: Development of internal simulation tools to aid thermal and pressure drop predictions of PWR products Undertake CFD simulations, from CAD to postprocessing and reporting Management of projects running in parallel, to ensure they are completed in a professional and timely manner Liaise with external global customers by phone, video call or in person, to discuss technical information related to projects
In addition, the following requirements would be a benefit: Knowledge on how to use a software repository (Mercurial is preferred) Experience with GUI programming (PyQT is preferred) Experience with GT-Suite / GT-Power Experience in using the ParaView software Experience in compiling software from source code Experience with VBA programming Experience with other CFD / mesh generation software packages Good understanding of fluid-flow physics applied to internal and external flow Experience with two-phase heat-exchange (e.g. but limited to refrigerants, condensable with inert gas, cryogenic fluids), Experience with the simulation of conjugate heat-transfer, Good mathematical skills (linear algebra / numerical algorithms) Experience with the Django software package.
Skills and Experience Required
PWR is looking for a driven person to join our dedicated and results driven team, with a flexible working approach to meet the demands of high-level global customers. The ability to multi-task and work collaboratively with other internal departments is fundamental to ensuring success. Have a minimum of engineering degree in mechanical or chemical engineering, Have at least 5 years of experience in CFD / simulation, preferably in motorsports, Demonstrate a sound knowledge of thermodynamics and the physical mechanisms driving heat-exchange, Demonstrate experience building models with a CAD system such as SolidWorks, CATIA or NX, Demonstrate experience in object-oriented programming, Demonstrate knowledge of the Python version 3 programming language, Demonstrate prior experience with CFD simulations and OpenFOAM in particular, Provide knowledge of the C++ programming language, Demonstrate experience with the Linux operating system (preferably at administrator level), Be open minded and have the willingness to make a difference in a very competitive market, Have the willingness to work overtime when required by ongoing projects.
