Job summary
Indulkana Anangu School is situated in a remote Aboriginal Community on the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara Lands. Pitjantjatjara and Yankunytjatjara are the languages of the community.The successful applicant is required to work closely with all staff, students and community members. Indulkana Anangu School has a whole school approach to positive behaviour management, and ancillary staff are expected to support and assist in cultivating a consistent, respectful, positive and safe environment.
To ensure employer compliance of duty of care responsibilities given the unique environment of the APY Lands, a wellness check will be conducted for this position and prior to any offer of employment.
This role will include:
Provide healthy, nutritious meals for students R-10,
menu planning, food ordering, preparation of hot meals daily
preparing food for camps & excursions or catering & setting up for school functions & events
cleaning & organising in accordance with food hygiene, storage, handling standards
Supports the health and wellbeing of students to provide nutritious meals daily.
Compliant with food handling legislations/ standards; ensure that food preparation equipment is cleaned and maintained in accordance with safe work standards and safe food handling standards.
Qualification: Safe food handling qualification desirable or willing to undertake
The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry.
The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years.
