Position Summary:
The core purpose of this role is to be a member of the Warehouse operations team, providing support to the Warehouse Manager and Warehouse Supervisor to ensure smooth running of the day to day warehouse operations.
Key Responsibilities:Prepare and complete orders for delivery or pickup according to work schedule (load, pack, wrap, label, ship)Receive and process warehouse stock products (pick, unload, label, store)Perform inventory controls and keep quality standards high for auditsKeep a clean and safe working environment and optimize space utilization, and report any issues immediately to the warehouse manager or supervisorComplete diary logs into inventoryReport any discrepanciesCommunicate and cooperate with supervisors and colleaguesOperate and maintain warehouse vehicles and equipmentFollow quality service standards and comply with procedures, rules and regulationsAssist with training and development of warehouse operatorsContinuously looking for ways to improve processes and efficiencies in the warehouseHave a proactive approach, calling out to your management when observing any issues affecting the department, warehouse or other areas of the businessBeing an example to other staff of the standard of employee Maersk wants to have driving the business forward
We are looking for:Experience in warehousing and knowledge of pick and pack procedures.Forklift licence.Knowledge of OH&S policiesProficiency in inventory software, databases and systems (WMS, etc.)Warehouse skills with high-level of customer orientationAbility to work and thrive in a flexible warehouse environmentWell-organized when working under pressureProactive and exhibits excellent problem-solving capabilitiesExceptional work ethic and values that align with the Maersk valueExperience in supervising staff and an understanding of obligations that operations leaders have to providing a safe, friendly and high performing work environment is an advantageThe ability to understand warehouse metrics to provide staffing recommendationsStrong written and verbal communication skillsAn ability to build rapport with other employees working in your areaThe ability to identify training requirements of new staff or staff requiring improvement in performanceA willingness to learn new skills, and to potentially step up to a Shift Supervisor role for short periods should the business requireThe desire for career progression within Maersk operations
