The role will be responsible for the deployment of software and hardware in an established national infrastructure segment including but not limited to budget, supplier, commercial, quality, schedule and risk management. You will be expected to work closely with other internal teams including the PMO to develop and track key metrics for program performance and provide analysis and management of the critical paths and events on the program. This will include producing high-level schedules for both internal and external customers for any risk and issues including the development of any recovery plans.
Additionally, you will be required to work collaboratively with other Project Managers of other segments of work for the most economic outcome whilst managing suppliers to deliver to their contractual obligations. You will be responsible for reporting strategic key performance indicators of program progress as well as tactical schedule adherence as part of the day-to-day responsibilities.
The work involves management of the end-to-end phases from supporting pre-sales engagement, Scope of Work, and budget construction through deployment to acceptance. The ideal candidate will have deep and recent experience with end-to-end management of large-scale software and hardware deployments and upgrades within a satellite infrastructure environment. Ability to demonstrate strong project controls for multiple locations, and multi-million-dollar design-build projects.

Job ResponsibilitiesLead both internal shared resources, suppliers, and subcontractors in test and production deployment of software and hardware upgradesSupport all phases of Architectural & Engineering activities including scope, design, and procedure.Coordinate site deployment including construction, equipment installation, test, and site acceptance for your segment of workResource management for project delivery including any training needs and plansForecast project completion costs based on trends including productivity measurements, commitments, scope changes, schedule impacts, equipment cost variance, contract changes, and invoice payments.Compare forecast versus actual performance and contribute to the analysis and explanation of variances including developing action plans to mitigate cost and schedule delays.Supported by the PMO team, ensure the acceptance and completion process and procedures to formalize acceptance and project closure is executed.Compile and/or review weekly or monthly governance reports to communicate achievements, performance, risks, issues and escalations to project stakeholders.Prepare reports related to cost and scheduling as required. Ability to resolve technical, commercial, and organizational challenges and effectively communicate complex tasks associated with deployment and commissioning of software and hardware rollout projects.Perform project administrative tasks and develop inputs for project cost estimating, budgeting, and scheduling to include purchase requisition development, purchase authorizations issuance, site-specific scopes of work development, invoice reconciliation, and project finance and accounting reconciliations.Contract controls & governance and contract compliance management
Requirements10+ years of relevant project controls experience for software and IT infrastructure deployment with a fundamental understanding of the following site deployment competencies: architecture and engineering, construction, and integration. Direct experience in the Telecommunications Industry Proven track record of technical lead in procurement activities such as RFI/RFP and managing design and deployment contractors on similar network roll-out deploymentsMust be proficient in Microsoft Excel with advanced skills in formulas, functions, and data visualization. Must also be proficient in Microsoft Project and Microsoft Powerpoint.Strong communication skills, interpersonal, influencing, management, and leadership skillsAbility to work independently on multiple projects, within a virtual team environment, with competing priorities and tight deadlines.Strong working knowledge of project control functions and processes including planning/scheduling, cost estimating and cost control, risk and opportunity management, change management, and financial and project accounting processes and systems.MPM and Oracle experience. Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residence required.Up to 25% overnight travel required. Extended hours as required.PMP certification
