We encourage and actively support involvement in academic activities like teaching and research. We are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic physician to join our department in a limited term full time General Medicine position .
Peninsula Health provides Healthcare Services to residents of the Mornington Peninsula. Our hospitals are located at Frankston and Rosebud, and in addition we provide a wide range of Community Health, Dental, Rehabilitation, Mental Health, Palliative Care and Aged Care Services from campuses at Frankston, Hastings, Mornington and Rosebud.
General Medicine is a large and busy Department, with 5 General Medicine Units at Frankston Hospital as well as an Acute Geriatric Unit, and another Medical Unit at Rosebud Hospital. You will be working with a strong team of full-time and part-time physicians in General Medicine who provide specialist diagnosis, treatment and care for a very wide range of Medical inpatients, as well as supporting the Surgical and Orthopaedic Units with Peri-operative patient management. In addition to the clinical role, the General Medicine Unit contributes greatly to education at all levels, including medical students and junior medical staff.
Your leadership skills in the training and mentoring of FRACP candidates will be valued. At Peninsula Health, there are rapidly expanding opportunities to develop collaborative research. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate an interest in teaching and developing research, have excellent clinical skills and show a commitment to quality, person-centred medical care.
What You Need
We anticipate you will have:
Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent
Registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with Specialist registration
Recognised as an accredited Specialist in General Medicine by the Specialist Advisory Committee of the Royal Australasian College Physician
FRACP or equivalent
Relevant track record and experience in clinical management
Sound clinical knowledge, skills and experience in contemporary medical and evidence based practice.
