Job Description
- Co-ordinate and develop the cost control and cost administration team to ensure consistent and robust implementation of cost management processes across a portfolio of works.
- Manage cost control and cost administration team resources to appropriate KPI's, training, development, succession planning and general performance.
- Develop and maintain project cost reports in order to provide progress reports for projects throughout their life cycle. Roll up cost reports into overall program cost reports and present overall cost reports where required.
- Assist optimisation of portfolio level reporting by leading and integrating the common work breakdown structure, coding, forecasting methods etc. across the program.
- Build and maintain positive and collaborative relationships with clients, colleagues and stakeholders to deliver on business objectives.
- Support the retention of rail operator accreditation and delivery on Franchise Agreement commitments.
- Use commercial and financial awareness to make effective decisions that support continuous improvement in business performance, focused on reducing unnecessary waste, reducing costs, improving productivity and enhancing effectiveness.
The Successful Applicant
- Tertiary qualification in project management, engineering, finance/business or equivalent.
- 5 to 10 year's experience in Cost Control.
- Knowledge of current cost control and project management techniques.
- Good level of experience in using cost control systems and tools.
- High level of experience in using Word, Excel & Outlook.
- Experience in controlling costs throughout the project life cycle.
- Ability to schedule work priorities to ensure deadlines are strictly adhered to.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and staff (verbal and written).
