Job Description
- Conceptualise, design, and develop mechanical components and systems for material handling equipment used in agricultural settings
- Conduct thorough analysis and calculations to ensure the mechanical integrity and safety of the equipment
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers and project managers, to ensure seamless integration of mechanical components
- Select appropriate materials and manufacturing processes that meet performance, cost, and sustainability requirements
- Optimise designs for efficiency, reliability, and ease of maintenance, considering the challenging conditions encountered in agricultural environments
- Perform detailed simulations and prototypes to validate design concepts and identify areas for improvement
- Create detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation for manufacturing and assembly
- Conduct testing and validation of the equipment to ensure it meets regulatory standards and performance criteria
The Successful Applicant
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- +3 years of post-graduate experience
- Experience in material handling, advantageous
- Familiar with Engineering design software's such as AutoCAD, Inventor
- Exposure to or experience on large design projects is beneficial
- Strong commitment to safety principles and Safety in Design principles
- Knowledge of Australian Standards, codes of practice, and regulations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work well within a team and collaborate effectively with stakeholders.
