Due to continued growth and demand this Tier 1 client is on the lookout for an experienced Electrical Project Engineer. Where you will work closely with the Project Manager and provide engineering and delivery support on a range of elements on a Major Utilities project in Queensland.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide electrical support to construction and commissioning crews.
- Assist with the development of Electrical contracts for sub-contractors, managing and approvals of variations, initiating and executing work to minimize cost ensuring they are in line with the forecasted revenue
- Determine project responsibilities by identifying project phases and elements; assigning personnel to phases and elements; reviewing bids from contractors.
- Determine project schedule by studying project plan and specifications; calculating time requirements; sequencing project elements.
- Technical input into procurement including support during execution and management of the procurement process to delivery
- Subcontractor management and coordination functions including technical support during construction, quality, contracts, claims, variations, audits etc
- Ability to estimate budgets, generate proposals and work to the budget during the project.
- Check and finalise the material requirements from the BOM.
- Summarize data and report on test results.
- Proactively identify issues/risks and identify suitable solutions.
About You:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering
- Previous on-site project experience working in a similar role
- Experience on construction projects in water infrastructure, including Water Treatment Plants
- Understanding of project financial management, forecasting, procurement, design and contracts management functions
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to work with all levels of stakeholders
- Working knowledge of engineering codes and safety standards
- Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external parties (Program teams, stakeholders etc)
- Experience within the water & or Waste water industry
- in SEQ.
