About the role
This role will see our successful candidate take on a leadership role within the wider clinical team and provide direct clinical pharmacy services as part of multidisciplinary teams in clinical areas. You will provide direct line management and supervision to a small team of pharmacists, interns and students and contribute to service delivery goals across the greater pharmacy department.
As an experienced clinician you will have the opportunity to consolidate and develop the future JHH Clinical Pharmacy services as JHH moves towards a major redevelopment in 2025.
This role is supported by our Senior Pharmacists and Pharmacy Management team. Part of the wider Pharmacy team you will be part of a collegiate and supportive network of staff.
Where you'll be working
John Hunter Pharmacy Department is expanding its footprint and we are excited to be able to offer the opportunity for a number of experienced clinicians to join our proactive and supportive team. We are a department of approximately 70 staff consisting of amazing pharmacists and our wonderful technicians and support team.
About you
This will suit experienced clinical pharmacists who are keen to manage and develop a team of pharmacists and support service delivery goals across the greater pharmacy department. You will be a people person with great communication and interpersonal skills and a drive to improve practice and the skillset and professional development of yourself and others. You will have an understanding of the operational aspects of hospital pharmacy service delivery and the factors influencing that.
We are looking for experienced hospital pharmacists who wish to expand both clinical and leadership skillsets.
All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course of a COVID-19 vaccine which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). Additionally, Category A workers are required to receive a booster dose three months after completing the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations. New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate (IM011 immunisation medical exemption form) certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.
Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
To be eligible for permanent employment in this position you must be an Australian Citizen, or a permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport. Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable local candidate is identified for the position; in this instance, you may only be offered employment in line with the conditions and expiry date of your visa.
