We currently have an exciting opportunity as an Avionics Certification Engineer located at RAAF bases in Williamtown, NSW.
Flexible working location to be considered on application.
The Avionics or Mechatronics Engineer is accountable for reviewing and assessing the design and development of electronic/electrical systems and/or equipment of Hawk, F-35 and other fast jet Aircraft in accordance with the contractual and Company requirements to ensure compliance.
Previous experience in civil or military design and certification activity (CASA 21M/ EASAPt21 / DASA Pt21) would be highly desirable.
Your new role:
As an Avionics Certification Engineer you will:
- Be involved in the development and certification of Avionics/electrical systems.
- Ensuring compliance of avionics / electrical systems to military airworthiness regulations and standards.
- Work as part of the engineering team to assure successful definition, development, integration and release of systems to operational military aircraft.
- Manage Technical Risks to ensure safety and the ongoing airworthiness.
- Have a strong focus on avionics/electrical supplier interactions and engagement.
- Work collaboratively to resolve different opinions between various stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance to relevant project engineering plans
About you
As an ideal applicant for this opportunity, you'll have:
- Avionics/Electronic/Electrical/Mechatronics engineering/ Technology degree qualified or equivalent experience
- Experience in a civil or military initial airworthiness environment (i.e CASA 21M/ EASAPt21 / DASA Pt21) relating to avionics/electrical systems.
- Experience in avionics/electrical systems development and certification.
- Broad knowledge of aircraft electrical /avionic systems
- An understanding of engineering design and systems engineering lifecycle.
- Must be eligible to hold an Australian Defence Security Clearance.
