Job Description
You will have two direct reports and report to the Head of Communications.
The role involves:
- Accountability, judgement and decision making
- Maintaining internal relationships
- Liaising with external stakeholders
- Media liaison
- Internal Communications
- Major projects
The Successful Applicant
The successful candidate will have a tertiary qualification in journalism, PR, communications or substantial experience in a similar role.
You will also have:
- Experience with media relations, complex issue management and resolution
- Experience in leading a team of media/communications specialists
- Understanding of the news cycle and what drives the agenda
- understanding of Local Government
- Experience in Social Media, trends and demographics
- Writing engaged, concise and targeted speeches
