Service Victoria is an Administrative Office within the Department of Premier & Cabinet charged with simplifying, improving and modernising essential government transactions and delivering customer service.
We are working hard to deliver a customer service system around what Victorians want and need, rather than what works for government. We know people want easier access to government transactions, including online options.

We are a customer-centric organisation with functional expertise in customer experience, product development, public policy, agile delivery, information technology, service management and corporate governance.
We have a mature digital services platform of contemporary cloud-based infrastructure, technical architecture and scalable and reusable common capabilities, with real-time integration into agency legacy systems.

The opportunity.

As Service Victoria grows, and moves into its operational phase, we will continue to progressively add new transactions and new functionality to existing capabilities, including digital licences, digital proof of identity, online accounts and payments with a particular focus on our mobile app.

Service Victoria is now focused on building the future organisation and the appropriate IT organisation structure and capability that will allow the implemented solutions to be maintained, supported and expanded upon on an on-going basis. You will also have a chance to work on continuously improving our service offering by bringing in structured improvements based on data analytics and insights from customer experience officers.

About the role:

Reporting to the Product Director, this is an integral role to ensuring the delivery of significant platform upgrades including tools and operating environment.

Key responsibilities:

The key responsibilities of the Product Owner include: Liaise with key stakeholders to identify and develop service reform opportunities to improve services for Victorian citizens. Represent and balance the needs of customers together with business requirements to provide vision and direction to the delivery team that enables them to deliver the highest value product suite. Analyse customer feedback and the overall the performance of the product portfolio from a business, agency and client perspective to identify and prioritise enhancements to improve Service

Victoria's products and the experience for customers. Support the portfolio planning process to ensure alignment and clarity on the short and mid-term direction of the product portfolio Participate in all agile ceremonies, providing leadership to build the team's capability in Agile methodologies and capacity to deliver. Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure scope, requirements and stories are clearly understood, documented and approved. Regularly liaise with representatives from Victorian Government agencies and departments to demonstrate latest product iterations to customers (pre-release) and gather feedback. Prioritise and communicate this feedback to the team. Support the User Acceptance Testing for products and work with internal business areas to ensure smooth market introduction. Relevant tertiary qualifications in IT, Business or equivalent will be highly regarded Demonstrated experience/qualifications working with Agile methodologies and providing guidance and direction for teams. The role is currently based in our modern offices in Footscray on the city fringe close to public transport, with excellent bicycle facilities and will relocate to the purpose-built Ballarat GovHub Centre in early 2021.
