Full time, monthly RDO Negotiable salary circa $85,000 Work-life balance in the South WestThe Shire of Capel is seeking an experienced civil engineering professional to join our Asset and Technical Services team providing technical support in the assessment, construction and infrastructure handover of subdivision and land development within our Shire.
The Shire of Capel is located in the South West, halfway between Bunbury and Busselton. We are nestled between the beach and the forest and are one of the fastest growing coastal Shires in Australia. The Development Control Officer will review, assess and provide feedback on subdivision and development proposals and manage the handover of infrastructure to ensure compliance with required standards and conditions.
The successful candidate will be highly organised, and an excellent communicator committed to ensuring the delivery of high-level engineering outcomes for our community.

To be considered for this role you will be able to demonstrate: Behaviour that positively demonstrates the Shires HEART of: Honesty, Empathy, Accountability, Respect and Teamwork Tertiary qualification in (or significant study towards) Civil Engineering or relevant field or significant experience in civil construction Experience in infrastructure planning, assessment and management of subdivisional development Relevant experience in civil design, construction and compliance with relevant local laws, policies and standards relating to infrastructure assets Experience in project management of engineering projects Demonstrated public relations and interpersonal skills in a customer-based environment with an ability to influence, negotiate and resolve conflict
Candidates with previous leadership experience, local government experience and Advanced Worksite Traffic Management accreditation will be highly regarded.
