About Our ClientThe Australian Airports Association (AAA) is a peak industry body founded in 1982 representing the interests of more than 340 airports and aerodromes across Australia, from regional landing strips to major international gateway airports. The Canberra based AAA also has more than 150 corporate members who provide services to the airport sector.

The AAA achieves this through advancing the interests of members by acting as the national voice for airports on a range of policy and regulatory matters including safety, security, sustainability, competition, and infrastructure development.
Job Description
- In consultation with the AAA Board and CEO the Director - Membership Engagement will develop and coordinate the member engagement strategy.
- As part of a team, deliver a range of high-quality tactical outputs including publications, marketing materials, and digital products including the AAA website and member centre.
- Oversee the monitoring of relevant issues in the media and other public forums to identify opportunities to proactively drive the organisation's key messages.
- Work with the policy team to assist in the design work to support high-quality submissions, briefing papers and other documentation on key policy issues to decision makers.
- Represent the organisation at various events including, but not limited to, member and stakeholder forums, internal and external committees and other official events.
The Successful Applicant
- Significant related experience, preferably within a peak body or association.
- A proven strategic focus, with an ability to recognise opportunities and harness information.
- Development of membership engagement and communications campaign experience, including the ability to lead, motivate and set objectives.
- Ability to manage multiple issues with experience in areas such as communications, member and stakeholder engagement and community education campaigns.
- Understanding of member events.
- Demonstrated experience in effectively managing high-profile or significant industry issues from a communications/or public affairs perspective.
- Ability to lead and inspire a small team.
- Executive level reporting including Board presentations.
