About Our ClientMichael Page has partnered with a quality provider of education services. Our client is a not-for-profit organisation designed to offer children a safe place in which to grow. The company is currently experiencing growth through acquisition and is backed by a successful private equity firm.
Our client is based in South Brisbane and offers flexible working arrangements. With a Head Office in Victoria, the Financial Controller will be working closely, both in-person and virtually with the CEO.
Job Description
The key responsibilities of the Financial Controller are:
- Developing financial strategy, including risk minimisation plans and opportunity forecasting
- High-level financial reporting and analysis
- Regular budget preparation and consolidation
- Cash flow management
- Preparing company tax and BAS statements
- Ensuring compliance with statutory law and financial regulation (Industry is highly regulated)
- Payroll and superannuation payments
- Provide advice and assistance to Payroll Manager regarding award interpretation
- Assist with Accounts Payable, specifically, process supplier invoices, generate regular supplier payment runs and reconcile supplier accounts
- Bank reconciliations
- Reconcile credit card statements
- All end of month accounting processes including GL reconciliations, journals, accruals, prepayments
- Coordinate annual audit
- Be responsible for generating a more streamlined approach to banking and reporting across the Group
- Improve efficiencies and reduce costs across the business
The Successful Applicant
The successful applicant will have:
- CA/CPA Qualification or equivalent
- Relevant experience in a senior finance related role
- Experience with multi-enity reporting
- A desire to learn and grow with the business
