Job Description
The Senior Safety Engineer is a key leadership role responsible for shaping the design, operation, and maintenance of mission-critical systems. You will develop and maintain safety documentation to ensure safe and efficient product development. With deep technical expertise and strategic thinking, you will drive alignment with standards and governance while inspiring your team to achieve business goals with integrity and safety. The Senior Safety Engineer will make independent decisions in applying standards and may lead a small team providing valuable support to project leadership.
The Successful Applicant
Seeking a Senior Safety Engineer with:
- Minimum five years of relevant experience.
- Expertise in applying system safety to complex systems.
- Strong knowledge of Defence and International System Safety standards.
- Familiarity with ASDEFCON deliverables.
- Experience in integrated systems and safety-critical embedded software.
- Background in defence, rail, or similar industries.
- Knowledge of Systems Engineering frameworks and applications.
- Proficiency in systems engineering processes and lifecycle.
- Skills in digital designs, embedded systems, and electronics analysis.
- Experience in hardware development for electronic products.
- Collaborative mindset and excellent communication skills.
- Proven leadership in safety engineering.
- Preference for structured product development or project engineering.
