job detailsHR Partners by Randstad is looking for a Work Health and Safety Advisor to join a Federal Government Agency for a 12 month engagement.
Responsibilities in this role include:
- Providing WHS advice to workers and managers, including interpreting and applying legislation, policy and procedures.
- Providing technical WHS advice, including advising managers on technical and best practice WHS processes in a public service context.
- Taking a leading role in implementing the WHS Management System, including developing and implementing policies, procedures and the development of learning and development materials.
- Managing and providing advice on incident responses, including coordinating incident investigations.
- Undertaking and/or reviewing hazard and risk assessments and coordinating the development and maintenance of the WHS risk register and hazard inspection schedule.
- Preparing briefs, reports, meeting papers and other materials related to managing WHS.
- Providing WHS advice on complex and sensitive staffing matters where necessary.
About you:
- Experience in the creation, implementation and management of all facets of health and safety management systems.
- Experience with, assessment, management and control of psychosocial risk in a large organisation and development of programs to address these risks.
- Experience in the development and management of psychosocial wellbeing programs
- The ability to provide WHS advice and assistance, including providing information relating to how persons can comply with legislation.
Other requirements:
- A certificate level qualification in work health and safety, or equivalent qualification.
- You must be an Australian citizen to be eligible to work in the commonwealth government
