Your new position
The Campaign Manager will be embedded in the Media and Communications team to manage the development and execution of a public facing awareness strategy. The strategy is responsible for delivering a whole-of-nation approach to reducing disaster risk, planning, preparing for, responding to and recovering from all hazards across the emergency management continuum.
Working closely with local communities, state and territory governments, as the EL1 Campaign Manager you will be responsible for bringing awareness to help communities respond and recover, while preparing Australia for future emergencies.
Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
- Design, execute, and assess marketing and communications strategies and campaigns with the objective of building public trust. Understand and apply the Guidelines on Information and Advertising Campaigns by non-corporate Commonwealth entities to ensure campaign compliance.
- Contract manage and lead campaign village suppliers including creative, cultural diversity and public relations agencies.
- Manage media planning with the master media agency, including analysis of channels, scheduling, purchasing and approvals.
- Prepare submissions for campaign approval by Executive, Ministers and government committees.
- Develop clear, concise and audience-centric content for a range of channels including websites, social media, electronic newsletters, stakeholder communication and advertising materials.
- Manage strategy implementation timelines, ensuring that risks are appropriately managed.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage competing priorities and quality of work within tight deadlines.
- Engage with other areas of department and across communication branches to ensure effective implementation of communication programs.
- Lead and oversee financial and procurement processes.
- Supervise and mentor junior staff.
Your Skills and Experience
To be considered for this role you would have skills & experience in the following to be successful:
- Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing government advertising campaigns and evaluating communication strategies.
- Demonstrated experience in procurement and contract management of government communication activities.
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to think strategically on a broad range of issues applying a consumer perspective.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and proven experience in the development of communication products.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities while working effectively under pressure in a changing environment to deliver high-quality advice and outcomes.
- Proven ability to prioritise and work flexibly across a range of communication projects to meet critical deadlines.
