Responsibilities
- Acquiring and maintaining technical knowledge across all towed array production/manufacturing equipment and manufacturing processes
- Maintain and repair all sonar production/manufacturing equipment.
- Record and document all maintenance activities using the correct reporting procedures via Microsoft Office suite.
- Provide routine maintenance reports highlighting progress and upcoming manufacturing or repair activities
- Carry out testing and inspection of sub-assemblies where applicable.
- Complete manufacturing and testing tasks as required.
- Support the group with the modification and fabrication of tooling and fixtures as required.
- Coordinate repairs and maintenance activities with external contractors as required, ensuring all relevant risk assessments are performed in line with company policy.
- Support commission and installation of new plant, carrying out relevant risk assessments in accordance with company procedures.
- Support problem solving teams and take a lead role in the continuous improvement culture.
- Observe good housekeeping and provide input to JSEAs and risk assessments as required.
Requirements
- Sound experience in breakdown maintenance and fault finding activities.
- Welding and metal fabrication skills (highly desirable)
- Ability to document processes and provide results in maintenance activities.
- Competence in oral and written communications.
- Experience in a tool room environment (lathe, mill etc).
- Can read and interpret process instructions and drawings.
- Working knowledge of MS Office products.
- Structured problem solving.
- Must be eligible for NV1 Defence Security Clearance. (Police Check required)
