The Role

The Development Manager will be responsible for leading key projects from inception to completion. This role covers all facets of the development process, from initial analysis and business case assessment through to managing project teams once projects enter a delivery phase. These projects will range from residential, commercial, retail and community facilities, in a variety of locations across SA. Ensuring that projects operate within a defined governance and reporting framework is also important to the success of the role. Responsibilities will include:

- Lead and manage Structured Projects from concept to completion, ensuring adherence to project plans, budgets, and time lines.
- Collaborate with internal teams, external consultants, and stakeholders to define project requirements, objectives, and specifications.
- Conduct feasibility studies, market research, and financial analysis to evaluate potential development opportunities.
- Negotiating of Retail AFLs & Leases, Co-ordinate and compiling leasing documentation and Tenancy Co-ordination.
- Manage the entire project life cycle, including site acquisition, due diligence, entitlements, leasing, design, construction, and handover.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, clients, tenants and consultants to develop and review project designs, ensuring compliance with building codes, regulations, and quality standards.
- Monitor and control project budgets, expenses, and cash flows to ensure financial objectives are met.
- Track project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful and timely completion.
- Liaise with local authorities and regulatory bodies to obtain necessary permits, approvals, and inspections.
- Communicate project updates, risks, and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders.
- Manage relationships with contractors, vendors, and suppliers to ensure the availability of resources and materials.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, market conditions, and best practices in property development and construction.

To be Successful

You will have a strong background in property development, excellent project management skills, and a proven track record of delivering successful development projects. An accredited degree in Real Estate, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is required.
