As a Senior Category Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in our clients procurement team by managing IT contract renewals and supporting efficient category management. Our client, delivers ICT services across Victoria.
Your expertise in both IT procurement and Victorian government regulations will be highly regarded as you ensure the procurement of various goods and services related to ICT on behalf of the business.
Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Lead the end-to-end process of contract renewals, from negotiation to finalization, ensuring favourable terms and cost-effectiveness.
- Collaborate within the category management team to plan and execute activities.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their IT requirements and align procurement strategies accordingly.
- Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and maintain a strong supplier network within the IT category.
- Managing vendors, managing contracts and the analysis of spend and contractor performance
- Develop and execute procurement strategies that drive efficiency and innovation while maintaining compliance.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to assess risks, opportunities, and performance within the IT procurement category.
- Contribute to business objectives by developing procurement and market event documents that support strategic goals.
- Analyze spend data and identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvement.
- Prepare reports and presentations to communicate procurement strategies, results, and recommendations to senior management.
- Retain and build current and/or new relationships with key stakeholders to ensure sustainable supply chains, minimize risk, and drive supply chain excellence.
The Successful Applicant
Qualifications and Experience:
- Qualification would be highly regarded, as will procurement sourcing and category experience equivalent work experience.
- Capability and experience working in Sourcing and Category Management, including demonstrated experience in compliance, policy and risk.
- Proven experience in procurement, category management, or related roles within the ICT sector.
- Strong knowledge of procurement policies and regulations.
- Demonstrated negotiation skills with the ability to establish favorable terms and conditions.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to use data to drive procurement decisions.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
