Colormaker Industries is a well-established, family-owned manufacturer of quality paints, coatings and inks. Amongst a broad range of technologies, Colormaker manufactures and exports market leading world class products in textile screen printing inks and high solids epoxy swimming pool coatings.
We require a Quality Control (QC) Chemist to join our busy team of coatings & inks specialists in Brookvale, NSW. Reporting to the Senior Chemist and Technical Manager, the duties and responsibilities of the role will include:Preparing materials for test and/or experimentationPerforming laboratory tests/QC procedures on paints and raw materials and recommending improvements for Factory Production and Product DevelopmentPerforming calculations, computations and measurementsAnalyzing test data results and preparing relevant reviews, reports and summariesAdvising and sourcing materials for Research and Development (R&D) projectsCarrying out product development work on new and existing products Auditing and controlling the quality and quantity of materials used in QC tests, R&D and product maintenanceChecking, calibrating and maintaining test equipment and other laboratory facilities.Management of Safety Data Sheets, both Raw Materials and Finished GoodsTechnical and other support to Customer Service and Marketing, including translation of technical and other product literatureProficient use of Tencia/Arrow, Color I Control and relevant business software (including MS EXCEL and WORD).Maintenance of relevant QC and Production records and related administrationAdhering to appropriate workplace health and safety standards and making recommendations for improvement.Management of Hazardous Materials (HazMat) and Dangerous Goods (DGs).
We offer competitive remuneration of $30 36/h casual excluding superannuation, depending on qualifications and experience.
The successful candidate must have at least:A relevant AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma plus three (3) years post qualification work experience; orAt least six (6) years of relevant full-time work experience.
The successful candidate must have coatings experience, specifically high solids epoxy, high performance industrial & textile print-ink technology, be passionate, have a good eye for colour and for detail as well as an ability to work with minimal supervision.
