We provide plant and equipment hire in a variety of industries from earthmoving, civil construction, mining and rail maintenance to industrial, trade and DIY users.The organisation is seeking an experienced individual to manage the branch operations and ensure smooth co-ordination of services, as well expand business opportunities and networks.
The successful candidate is required to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to develop and maintain internal and external business relationships, strong time management and organisational skills, a strong background in sales and business development with the ability to manage staff, achieve monthly sales targets, and a vast knowledge of the range of products we provide. Previous sales and operational management experience is essential, ideally in the hire, building or industrial sector.
ResponsibilitiesTo provide vision, leadership, guidance and support to staff through effective human resource management in accordance with company policy, process and protocol Manage the branch operations ensuring smooth day-to-day co-ordination of services Plant, equipment and facilities are maintained to enable quality service provision consistent with Company procedures and systems Supervise and assist in maintenance of hire equipment and plantManage plant and assets to ensure Tutt Bryant Hire can meet current and predicted needs and be accountable for all company plant and equipment within area of control Ensure operational activities comply with relevant legislation and industry standards Ensure timely reporting, feedback and communications in accordance with established reporting lines, including but not limited to, attendance and contribution at meetings, periodic management reporting as directed, updates on business conditions and outlook, escalation of matters beyond delegated authority, request for advice, and other pertinent mattersStaffing resources are managed within the agreed budget limits and consistent with operational requirements; Opportunities to improve operational / infrastructure effectiveness and efficiency are evaluated and implemented as agreedEnsure profitability of area/branch through managing hire sales and costs controlsIdentify prospective market changes, sales, growth areas and future trendsUse equipment utilisation data supports proposed new plant purchases and uses Recommendations for hire and equipment and associated product supports identified needs and market researchManage the branch budget and expenditure, working with the Finance Manager to ensure good cash flow and financial stability Manager creditor and debtor contracting, and invoicing is accurate and timely Adverse indicators are identified, and strategies/contingencies recommended to rectify any adverse reactions. Ensure the implementation of quality systems within Tutt Bryant Hire to maintain accredited status for the CompanyEnsure Company standards, policies, protocols and guidelines are implemented and regularly evaluated and updated Ensure staff understand and use correct application and smooth operation of the systemManage workplace health and safety through implementation of procedures, policies and within the boundaries of Workplace Health and SafetyEnsures safe work practices and a safe work environment is maintained at all times in accordance with company policy and procedures Compilation and submission of all industry-related tenders and submissionsMaintain strong and acute market knowledge, to allow in-depth analysis, identification and development of strategies, new growth areas and contingency planning
