About Children's Services:

Children's Services at Aruma have opportunities to support young people aged between 5 and 17 years living in residential out of home care with us who have experienced trauma and have a disability. If you thrive on variety then we want to hear from you!

About the Role:
Your role will be varied with no two days being the sameIt will include providing direct care within a residential setting, ensuring a safe and nurturing home-like environment and promoting positive family relationshipsYou will work within a trauma-informed framework to make a real difference with young people who have complex needs and display challenging behaviours including emotional dysregulation, verbal and physical aggression at times.

Please note: Our services run on a 24 hour / 7 day roster model so successful candidates will (ideally) need to be available to work any shifts across weekdays, weekends and Public Holidays (including nights - 'Awake Nights' and 'Sleepovers') for every day of the year.

Must haves
Passionate about supporting young people who have experienced trauma and have a disabilityAvailability to work any rostered shifts across a 24 hour / 7 day roster model, including awake nights and sleepoversCompleted, currently studying or willing to complete a Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention (Residential Care), or a relevant equivalent (click here to view more details), as a minimumCurrent Australian drivers licenceCurrent work rights in AustraliaYou will be required to complete a Child Safety and Personal Screening CheckHold (or are willing to obtain) a current Blue Card for paid work, Yellow Card/NDIS Worker Screening Clearance, First Aid and CPR qualifications.Qld Drivers licenseA confirmation record of COVID- 19 vaccination (dose 1, 2 & booster)
